Needless to say, last minute scheduling changes make it challenging to manage your time. In order to assure that the most important things are accomplished establish an organized strategy for creating an agenda, sticking to your agenda, and structuring your day.
Try this:
1. Spend one week self-monitoring to ascertain your daily activities.
2. Allot the amount of time needed to complete each task.
3. Label the items on your list in the following categories:
A is comprised of tasks that are extremely important and must be completed that day.
B tasks are very important tasks that must be done soon.
C are the important tasks that need to be done, but not necessarily straight away.
4. Place these items into time slots on your schedule or make a list with 3 columns (A,B,C) and cross items off the list when done.
Next time we will talk about the role of assertiveness in time management.
